Looking back at your career, no matter how long or short it may be….

…what are the two things you’d do differently knowing what you know now, and what are the two things you are so glad you did just the way you did them?

Of course, we’re talking 20/20 hindsight, but still…indulge me, would you? : )

  1. Actually, the answers are the same for both questions:

take chances and accept opportunities – when I played it safe and didn’t, I ended up regretting it; when I did, things worked out for the better.

    Good things to you,

  2. Differently: I would follow my instincts, take more chances and leave jobs/companies that were not the right place for me. Or to put in in the words of someone wiser (tho’ I don’t remember who he is): “Dismiss everything that insults your soul”.

The same: I would be interested in the people I work with and use my creativity to find innovative solutions.

  3. Differently:
    – Fill spare time with activities that cover lack of job satisfaction
    – Compromise on pay & position to create a virtual challenge

    – Work internationally, move continents
    – Build & Maintain relationships with people that do interesting work. i.e. live vicariously in a way.
